happytogoing Posted September 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2004 First time cruisers, we've decided to stick with NCL tours, (various reasons) and have settled on an island tour, then shopping and wondering around at Georgetown..... THere seem to be a few...."Discovery Cayman" Stingray City Observatory and Island Tour" Stingray City and Island Experience See & Sea Tour. Have ruled out east side (ie St. Pedro, Butterflies) Thanks for your help.........

taszmom Posted September 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2004 I'm not into snorkeling, but everyting I've heard from others is that the Stingray City is a not-to-be-missed excursion. They vary so read through the descriptions. Some are snorkeling and some are just standing in the water with the stingrays...I guess it depends on what grabs you. Personally I don't like the bus tours. I've been to GC several times and in fact heading back on a HAL cruise in October. I think my DH is going to do the stingrays since he has never done it and I think I will just take my 5 yr old daughter to the beach and perhaps the Turtle Farm as this is a first for her and too young for the stingrays (or at least I think it would frighten her). When I was on the NCL Sun, I did the Bike Tour - that was interesting and active. We rode around some back roads, stopped at Hell, the Turtle Farm and the beach for a brief swim. It was something different other than sitting on a bus.
