If you walk up Queen Street from North Front Street (at the Swing Bridge) for about five blocks, you will reach the Museum of Belize, which occupies the old Belize jail building "and is not to be missed for its historical and archaeological exhibits."--Lonely Planet guide Belize, 2nd edition 2005, p. 80.

Open Mon-Sat 10 AM-6 PM. There is an admission fee, but I don't know how much. Notable for Mayan ceramics and jade, which in Belize are VERY noteworthy. Behind it is the headquarters of the Belize Tourism Board, which offers some of the most beautiful guidebooks and brochures on Belize. Undoubtedly there they could give you very many more ideas of things to see in Belize City.
