Xcaret?...anyone book recently thru Carnival?

Since Carnival doesn't sell this excursion until we're already on the ship, I'm wondering if we'd do better booking this directly with Xcaret....there's a discount if you book online. Just wondering if anyone has done the Carnival ship's excursion to Xcaret recently and what the cost was....

Xcaret is a great place- if u get off @ calica (CRUISE PORT of CruiseLines)- actually a loading facility for Raw material from mexico- is a short cab ride to the Park. U dont need to buy from carnival for there 20-25% mark up.

Nothing else in calica other then the Street vendor stalls- U have to run the GAUNTLET!

:)

I just read over on the main carnival board something about Carnival cancelling this excursion all together dues to Xcaret not renewing some kind of auto insurance?

If you are cruising Carnival you may not have a choice but to book it on your own....
