St. John (St. Thomas) or St. Kitts (Nevis) - Which has better snorkeling?

Cruising to St. Thomas and St. Kitts in April. Trying to surprise DH with a catamaran sail to St. John (to Cinnamon Bay) or to Nevis (St. Kitts) for snorkeling. Which would be the better snorkeling?

Havent been to st. kitts, but some of the best snorkeling i've had was at sapphire beach, st. thomas.

The snorkeling in Nevis was just average, but the catamaran trip was totally awesome!

GO to Coki beach in St Thomas -our favorite

St Kitts go to Cockelshell beach -My son saw lobsters

Trunk Bay on St John 's is a shlep but nice from St Thomas

Roatan was fine

St. John is awesome. Even Trunk Bay is nice if you stay away from the crowded side. My husband and I saw a great Octopus floating in its flared (like a sun) position then we actually spotted a 5-6ft reef shark. It was great and tons of fish:)

Be careful if you go to Coki Beach we had snorkel gear ripped off. Sapphire Beach is much larger it has shade and lounges for rent and is just a bit farther down the same road basically. Much safer choice. Good snorkeling.

I've snorkeled both and, IMHO, St. John is the clear winner.
