SUEBEE,

Thank you for the posting regarding the various means of transportation on Oahu. Please advise is there an area code on all the 7 digit phone numbers you listed???

Sure Ernlyn

Hawaii's area code is 808. If you are at your hotel, airport or wherever on the island, you do not need to dial 808 like you do in some states...just the 7 digits will do it for you here.

Mahalo SueBee, One other kinda dumb question, but how many tourists can fit in a taxi? We are a party of five adults, and we plan on visiting the Arizonia Memorial on Saturday early am. so we are trying to decide if we are going to need two taxis or one....We were considering the bus but thought it would get us there a little late.

We had 4 adults in a regular-sized cab and it was tight, especially with the luggage that 2 of us had. However, there are limo cabs around and probably bigger-sized cabs. But, maybe count on getting 2 and if you get lucky and get a vehicle that you can all fit into - great!

Aloha and have a wonderful time,

Emi

Thank you ladies.....

I've checked into a limo and it seems the best deal is about $70.00 and will accomodate up to 9 people, not including their luggage. That would probably be the best value for 5 adults and thrie luggage, and about the same as a taxi-van I would think.

I have been a CC member for several years now, and we all appreciate very much how SubBee, SweetEmi, Spleen, and many others who make Hawaii their home, are always here to help us visitors plan our trips.

My pleasure!

Here's the funny part...First, I work a lot and don't get out that much. But, now when I am out or driving in town, I find myself noting things that would be of interest to you all - jotting down phone numbers, noting the prices on things that I usually wouldn't have any reason to need to know about, picking up the free booklets for the tourists...stuff like that. I even say to my friends, "I need to remember that because you see, I go to this Cruise Critic message board and people ask me questions." icon_biggrin.gif

Try Star Limo. From airport to any Waikiki hotel $50 (stretch). Super-stretch is $55. Possible that their airport-pier price is comparable. www.hawaiistarlimo.com
