How much time to return rental car?

I am sailing on the POAH on 3/26/08, and renting a car from Thrifty at Honolulu, Kahului, Nawililwili, and Hilo. How much time should I figure in to drop the car off at the airport and catch the shuttle back to the ship? I don't want to cut it too close, but I don't want to give up too much island time either:rolleyes: Thanks!

An hour before you have to be back on board is a good ball park, since there can be lines for final paperwork and waits for shuttles.

We encountered quite a bit of traffic in Kauai and Maui in the afternoons...take this into account when you plan your second day! We did not have much traffic in Hilo, but were there on a Sunday; things could be different on other days. We did have A LOT of traffic in HNL as well.
