Kauai, What is best time of day for Helicopter?

We will be flying an Air Kauai helicopter and I was wondering what is the best time of day, end of June, for this flight? Morning or Afternoon. I think it leaves from Li'hue. Marilyn

We had a 9:30am excursion, weather became an issue later in the day and all flights were cancelled. Early am worked out great for us.

From my experience, the weather over the mountains is best in the morning. Daytime heating tends to build clouds during the day and they can be very heavy by afternoon over the mountains. That being said, we did the tour in the afternoon, and although we couldn't get into some passes, we did see lots of wonderful coastal stuff, and good views of the canyon.

on Kauai, you will rarely find good weather in the p.m. and you can never count on the weather to be one way or the other at any given time as it is always changing. In any event, a.m. is your best shot. By the way, the best tour operator on the island is Will Squires. I have known him for a long time and he will treat you right.
