Anyone been to any of these ports and would like to share their experiences as to what to do and see, tour on own or with tour company or taxi tour guides:

Which cruise are you going on?

SINGAPORE

Very easy to get around by public transport or taxi. "Hop on hop off" bus in downtown Singapore is great. If you get a chance go to Zoo. Last time we did the Night Safari(stayed for 3 days pre cruise) and in June we will do the Breakfast with the Animals tour. Little India & China Town are great for bargains Orchard Rd has some very expensive stores. You MUST go to Raffles Hotel for the famous Singapore Sling. Delicious!

KUALA LUMPUR

Be advised that Port Klang is approx 90mins from the centre of KL and we went in on the cruise bus tour finishing @ Petronas Towers. VERY expensive shopping Mall here.Most of the tours seem to go to the Blue Mosque, the Towwers & shopping districts. If you go out from the centre to other malls you will find some great shopping. There are some great web sites that will give you lots of info

PENANG

Looking forward to going here in June. Friends tell me it is a great place to go to @ your own pace rather than book tours
