BrodyBarb Posted September 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2004 I need some quick answers please! (Even if you can't answers all) 1. Is there facilities to put photos on CD on Destiny? 2. Do they supply bathrobes for oceanview cabins? 3. Is it necessary to bring extra hangers? 4. Do the credit cards used to open/lock the safe have to have a magnetic strip? 5. I heard that as well as 110 they have 240 (or 220) volt outlet... my question is do you need a converter so you can used an english plug or can you just put the english plug straight into the outlet? Thanks in advance!:)
Knights on the Beach Posted September 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2004 I haven't been on the Destiny yet, but have been on several Carnival ships. The card you use to open/close your safe doesn't have to be a credit card, but does have to have a magnetic strip. You can use your driver's licence, a grocery store card, etc. -- almost any card with a magnetic strip should work. They recommend that you not use your sail & sign card for this. Your oceanview cabin should have bathrobes for you to use. If not, ask your room steward to provide them for you. We usually bring a garment bag with our clothes already on hangers, so you may want to bring a few extra hangers with you.
justinsmom Posted September 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2004 I sailed on Destiny in January. I will answer what I can. 1. I am not sure if you can put photos on CD. I do know they had facilities to devolop photos. 2. Yes, both ocean view and balcony cabins have robes. 3. I would definitely bring extra wire hangers which you don't mind leaving behind. You will be able to hang most everything up that way since there is not that much space in the drawers. If you hang everything up and use a little downey wrinkle releaser, you should be all set for the week. 4. Yes, the card you use for the safe will need a magnetic strip, but most cards do have the strip. 5. To be on the safe side, I would bring a converter. PS Get ready for a great trip. We really enjoyed Destiny and all of the Ports of call on the Southern Caribbean itinerary.
BrodyBarb Posted September 20, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted September 20, 2004 Thanks Beth & Justinsmom, I'm still not sure about the 220 outlet shape so I'm not sure what to do there. (I have a hooded hairdryer that I bought in the UK) I'll probably take around 4 hangers in the outside compartment of one of our cases. If anyone else can help with the grey areas I'd really appreciate it! Thanks again ladies.:)
LINANRIC Posted September 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 20, 2004 The ship does have a hairdryer in them. So why bring a hooded hair dryer. Leave it at home.......... :D
BrodyBarb Posted September 20, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted September 20, 2004 Hiya Lin, I actually 'set' my hair with large curlers! So a regular hand held hairdryer could take days.:) It's so much easier to put the hooded dryer on and relax handsfree! (Does that make sense:confused: ) Are you packed and ready yet?? Looking forward to seeing you and Steve on the Godfrey tour in St. Thomas....
