Babie Posted February 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2008 I'm leaving Wednesday, so ASWP options would be great I'm going to be in Progresso on my birthday. I really want to do a Mayan excursion. My original was Chichen Itzw, but you an't climb El Castillo anymore. Which is a lifelonm dream, and what better way to celebrate my bday than to climb a pyramid? Since hat's out. do any of you know a site that does still allow climbing? I'd not mind doing Uxmal, but it isn't offered (Carn9val doesn't offer it_ Do any of you know of a private company that does Uxmal ( in the time I'm in port? Or even an extensive site near Progresso? I'll be in Progresso the cruise before,. so if 2 p[tions are available, That'd be good too. But I may want to do a beach parrty the first visit. I don't really want to do the "d" excursion because it's smaller Any help would be great!!
cruisenp Posted February 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2008 We just got back and did the Dzibulchatun ruins. We really enjoyed it. We spent time in the museum and then got to climb on the Temple of the Seven Dolls. It is not very large but it was fun and beautiful. We then walked across to the other ruins which is about a half mile. There is a beautiful water "hole" there. We did the tour that included the mexican buffet and horse show. It was a great day. YucatanToday Posted February 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2008 You'll find private companies offering tours to Uxmal as well. See the 'Transportation to Uxmal' thread for more info. Also, check out our article at http://www.yucatantoday.com/destinations/eng-uxmal.htm
