Texas Hold 'Em on Oosterdam??

We will be sailing on the Oosterdam in April, and were wondering if they offer Texas Hold 'Em in the casino? If anyone has sailed recently we'd love to know more about it.

• Do they offer cash games nightly?
  
• Is it limit, no limit, or both?
  
• Do they have tournaments onboard?
  
• Was it popular (i.e. difficult to get a spot to sit?)
  
• What was the skill level of most players?

I was wondering this myself. I posted this questions a few months back and got no answers.

and was reasonably satisfied. A poker table has been wedged into a bar near the casino so it wasn't particularly comfortable but the games seemed to be easy to get in and the level of play seemed to be acceptable. There were a couple of tournaments. He's not here right now or I'd get specifics. As an aside, I like to play a bit of black jack but found several of the dealers to be less than jolly and a bit 'flat'.

I don't think they have poker in the Casino, but the Oosterdam does host a poker tour/cruise in December, and many other ships also do Poker Cruises. Just Google "Poker Cruise" :) Jer the bear

One of the things we really enjoyed about NCL was that they had a large table in the casino where you could always find a Hold Em game. I also liked that they served snacks in the casino in the late evening (cookies, sandwiches, etc.) The pit bosses were also really friendly and bought all of the poker players a few rounds of drinks because most of them had been playing for around 2-3 hours. It was a great experience, so I was hoping for something similar on HAL.

Hybrn8 - that's too bad about the "flat" blackjack dealers. It really makes the experience when you get a great dealer.

While we didn't play...the table that was mentioned above was always in use in the back of the sports bar...we did have a friend that played and never complained of getting a seat....and actually at the end of the cruise they were removing the tables that were in that room to add another table(or so rumor had it)...this was last week.

were daily events in the area behind the Sports Bar. This area is across a walkway from the casino and it was a good spot in that there was less racket from the slot machines and very little smoke (what came thru was from the smokers in the bar but there's a wall which separates table from bar station).
