lynneamycruise Posted February 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2008 Has anyone done the Yael boat snorkeling trip? 3 hours long--sail boat and snorkeling to "Pelican Rock" There is one poster named Maxine that has posted 15 or so replys to this trip (all glowing), but no one else. Can anyone give me feedback on this trip? Thanks!

SDPadreFan Posted February 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2008 When are you going to Cabo? The water is pretty cold right now (low to mid 60's). It starts warming up around May/June I believe and stays warm until about November
Cruisin on BABS Posted February 21, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2008 My group of 8 did this tour in October. It was FANTASTIC! The food was just OK, but the service was excellent, and they even took us over to Lovers Beach for a short time. They can't get you right to the beach, but close enough to swim if you want to see the beach. We booked on the internet before getting there, and they were waiting for us when we got off the tender. The snorkeling was not that great, but I understand that is just how it is in Cabo. Sailing out in the Pacific was great.

It starts warming up around May/June I believe and stays warm until about November We are going next month...will be in Cabo March 20th ...do you think the water will be too cold to snorkel for a bit? We love to get out on the water when we are in a port and enjoy snorkeling... Any other ideas? We have been whale watching before (cruised Hawaii and Alaska last year..my kids saw tons of whales both places...so thought we would do something else) Any suggestions would be great? SDPadreFan Posted February 21, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2008 Caboticket on this forum may be able to give you a better idea about the water temps in March. He lives there. My guess is that it will still be pretty cold. Snorkeling in Cabo is good but not great. It cannot compare to the Caribbean or Hawaii in terms of water clarity. How old are your kids? Other options could include riding ATV's on an escorted excursion or perhaps the new ziplines that traverse over a desert canyon. Does your trip also take you to Puerto Vallarta. They have a Pirate Ship that does family oriented sailings during the day which includes a snorkeling stop and a beach picnic I believe. The water should be warmer as well. I don't have any direct experience with this trip but others have reported positively about it.
Cruisin on BABS Posted February 23, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2008 Thanks for the information...really helps...was your group the only one on board? Yes, we originally reserved for 10, but 2 of our group backed out. They did not refund the money, but I did not really expect them to.
househunter Posted February 23, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2008 The water in Cabo is quite cold right now and will not even start to warm up until late June. It is the warmest from Sept-Dec. If you can tolerate water in the low to mid 60's than you will be ok but I think it will be too cold for most ( me included, we almost froze last May!) lynneamycruise Posted February 27, 2008 Author #10 Share Posted February 27, 2008 Thanks Househunter..you seem to be a great Cabo source...we have decided to scrap the expensive "snorkeling" trip due to cold water and need to come up with plan B. My thoughts were to take my family (2 kids-9 and 12 years old) over to Lover's Beach for a bit...water taxi I guess...to hang out and maybe brave a swim or quick snorkel.... Then (and this is where I need some advice) go to Medano Beach for some parasailing. Do you know anything about parasailing on the beach? I have read they are abundant...but have no idea where to go. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
