I'm looking for things to do in Cancun.

Can you recommend any of this places?

I will appreciate it.:)

I did Tulum and Chichen Itza back in 2002.

those were both very nice... and very hot

I liked Tulum because we got to swim right there

and it was refreshing

We were also lucky at ChichenItza , the day we went it sprinkled a bit

and that helped to cool us down.

ChichenItza they allowed us to climb the Pyramid

and several people tried

the first steps are a doozy though

Tulum we were not allowed to climb at all.

I never did Xcaret, but it looks interesting

Might want to do that one day

I also did the Caribbean Carnival 2 nights one was the Mexican Fiesta which was real good

and the other was singles night ...also nice , but I liked the Mexican night better

I have been looking at those online for this year

and it appears that they might have changed since I was there in 20002

I am also looking at the Pirate Cruise w/dinner

and the Hacienda Nights

Both look very entertaining

Hope this helps

If you are going to be there for a few days, you might want to check out the Cancun forum on trip advisor. It's a bit more active than this lil forum.

Some fairly common things to do while staying in Cancun are:

visit the Ruins ... my order of preference among the three major ones are Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum. You can not climb any structures at CI or Tulum. Coba is a bit less developed as far as the Ruins go, but it does have the tallest pyramid in the yucatan which you can still climb. It is more sprawled out than the other two so it will involve more walking and or renting a pedicab. There's also a minor site within the hotel zone, El Rey near the Hilton.

Xcaret - more info on this in the PDC forum since a lot of visitors there will stop here. It is ofte mentioned with Xel-Ha. Between the two eccological parks I prefer Xcaret. Google the name, they have a good website.

Xel-Ha - if you have kids, this would be a good choice. Lots here to keep the kids occupied. Can get pretty darn crowded though. Google the name, they have a good website.

Isla Mujeres - this is an easy day trip when you want to just get away from Cancun for an afternoon. Rent a golf cart and tour the island. Snorkel off the beach, and enjoy a tasty lunch.

Isla Contoy - another day which takes you to an ecological island. Snorkeling, education, stingrays, lots of birds.

El Garrafon - on isla mujeres ... but there are tours that go just here for snorkeling. Or you can go to the hotel next door, use their facilities and snorkel for $4. (that's our preference) :D

There's an interactive aquarium at La Isla mall, and dolphin swims at Wetnwild.

That might get you started. There's always a tour that combines Tulum and Xel-Ha. I usually don't recommend it ... I didn't feel I had enough time at either place.
