Mediterranea heading back to Florida?

In the local news (the missing woman was from my area, SW FL), the girls mom talked to the boyfriend about everything. He's not saying much. He says they got into an argument, she became angry and agitated and she jumped overboard. The woman's brother says that he thinks something is not right with the accounts of the incident because his sister was "afraid of water and scared of heights." It was a rocky relationship, but she kept going back to the boyfriend.

Whatever the case may be, it's always sad when these things happen.

A boat came out to us while we were at lunch off the coast of Miami. We had to head back, the FBI then took the boyfriend off the ship. Rumors on the ship were that she was pushed. I was asleep when it happened but we did circle all night and the next morning while the coast guard was searching.

They never did find her I will watch and see what happened to him.

Was also on board for this cruise. Here's what I heard/witnessed:

Witnessed:

Around 7:45 am, an announcement was made that around 11:30 the previous evening, a passenger was seen going overboard; and that the ship had spent the entire night conducting a search of the area, with the assistance of the US Coast Guard.

Around 8:15 am, a male passenger was making a scene in the main lobby, at the customer services desk. Security personnel took up positions in the immediate vicinity, quietly ushering other guest from the area. I saw two plainclothes personnel with handcuffs in hand. The man was yelling, cursing and threatening the staff. Eventually, the calmed him down and took him into one of the nearby offices, ending that episode of the drama.

Around 10:30 am, an announcement was made that the ship was returning to Miami for "technical reasons".

Around 11:00 am the ship held position off the entrance to the Port of Miami channel. There it was met by a small boat (20'-25'?, similar to a sport fishing boat). Two men got off the boat, each carying a large black suitcase. Then the man from the lobby was escorted off the ship. I could not tell if he was restrained or not.

Heard: (and bear in mind, these are just the rumors that appear to be the most popular ...) -

The couple had been arguing ever since they boarded on Saturday.

They were really loud, screaming and threatening each other in their cabin, but no one reported them ("Don't want to get involved, you know.").

Around 11:15 pm, someone reported that they thought they had seen someone go overboard, from the side of the ship.

Around 11:15 pm, the yelling from the cabin ended.

Around midnight (45 minutes later) the boyfriend reported that she had jumped overboard.

In addition to the girl who "jumped", the man had also brought another girlfriend aboard, without the knowledge of the missing girlfriend; and she left the ship before we departed Fort Lauderdale.

The reality? Who knows? It may come out someday, but the industry will probably try to bury it

U.S. Coast Guard searching for cruise ship jumper

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a 39-year-old woman who reportedly jumped from a Costa Cruises ship Sunday off the coast of Florida.

The Coast Guard says in a news release that it was notified of the incident Sunday morning by the crew of the 2,114-passenger Costa Mediteranea, which sails out of Ft. Lauderdale. The agency says the woman was traveling with her boyfriend, who told crew members that she had become "angry and agitated" and then unexpectedly jumped overboard.

The Coast Guard says the woman is believed to have gone overboard about 20 miles southeast of Key Largo, Fla. The ship left Ft. Lauderdale Saturday on a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise to the Cayman Islands, Honduras and Mexico. Coast Guard cutters from Miami and Port Canaveral, Fla., are taking part in the search as well as several aircraft.

The incident comes almost exactly a year after a passenger jumped off the Carnival Glory only to be rescued by the Coast Guard -- a high seas drama that drew headlines worldwide.

Tina had some bad choices in boyfriends i do believe there was foul play involved. But our family isnt exactly great, no one invited me to my own mothers funeral to whom they could not find the body.
