Euros or US dollars

We will be sailing on the Carnival Freedom in May. I know the ship currency is US dollars but what about tipping on the ship? Euros or dollars? I am thinking about room service and such but I always get plenty of change from the bank before I go but that would be harder for me to do in Euros. Does anybody know what the custom is on this? Thanks!
