Kayak Tour in Port Everglades

Has anyone done the Kayak Adventure in Port Everglades with NCL? What did you see? What time of day did it go off? susan

Yes, we did the Indian River Lagoon kayak trip last year and we're doing it again this year. You get on a bus as soon as possible after the ship docks and the tour is about 3-4 hours. You launch the kayaks in "Manatee Cove" so you get to see manatees in their natural habitat (up close and personal!) then you kayak (with a guide) out to a small island and see some other local flora and fauna. You come back to the cove to see the manatees again and then leave. The funny thing about this trip is what happens on the trip back -- the bus stops at a roadside market so you can buy some local orange marmalade, juice, a plactic alligator, etc. I think the tour guide is the brother-in-law of the market owner;) .

Overall, it is a nice leisurely trip and, for us, it is perfect since we get to see manatees (which we love!) and then we get back to the ship in plenty of time to have dinner without rushing before sailing away. The paddling is done at a slow pace and I would recommend it for beginners since the kayaks used are very stable. We didn't have anyone turn over on our trip!
