Bears Late May/Early June

Any decent bear viewing options in early June.

 

May 31 - Whittier

June 3 - Skagway

June 4 - Juneau

June 5 - Ketchikan

It is a little early but we saw a bear on the Klondike Highway out of Skagway at at Taku Lodge on our floatplane trip out of Juneau, both in May. Bear come with salmon and salmon don't come until later - late June, July, August.

We saw two black bears on our drive to the Yukon out of Skagway last May 23. Here's a picture of one of them...

I was afraid we were a little too early.

 

We will just have to keep our eyes focused.
