Whittier Time Frames

I am arriving in Whittier via Motorcoach at the end of the land tour portion of my trip. We are scheduled to arrive at 12:45PM and I would like to book a PWS tour which begins at 1:30PM. Since Princess is bringings us to Whittier, our luggage is not a problem.

I am concerned about issues with the "tunnel" that is one way and I have read some stories about long waits.

Should I book the PWS tour or do something else?

What else is there to do in Whittier?

Thanks,

TJ

There really aren't problems with the Whittier Tunnel. I mean things happen, an unscheduled train, rocks fall, but all and all the Tunnel runs on schedule. Vehicles in on the half hour and out on the whole.

Really besides the PWS cruises there isn't much else to do in Whittier. The town was originally built to be a fuel supply depot for World War II. Everyone in town basically lives in one building.

You'll have no problem making the 1:30 PWS cruise and I've booked them in the past and will continue to in the future without worrying about the tunnel.

There really aren't problems with the Whittier Tunnel. :)

A bird landing on a transformer and shutting it down for a good part of a day last year...lmao There was some upset cruisers!! The ship isn't going to leave missing most of it's passengers as nobody could get through. ;)

As Susan said..not much else in Whittier to do and you shouldn't have any problems with the tunnel. It's Princess's problem if there is since your traveling with them.

30 minutes is plenty of time to get anywhere in Whittier. It only takes 5 minutes and you've seen it all!

It may have been the good part of the day, but it was only a 4 hour delay. It took the Whittier Police to open it to get the 500 hungry passengers into Whittier. The only thing that doesn't work when the power goes out is the big exhaust fans. The Tunnel Operators didn't want to let anyone through, but the Police gave all of us an escort.
