Sea Beach Plaza Resort

Has anybody stayed there? What do you think? The location seems to be perfect and is just down the road from Bahia Mar and across the street from the beach. I figured it looked like a good place to stay for one night with no frills:rolleyes: . It is a small place with only a few rooms.

Thanks for you input:)

Thought I would respond since no one else has. If you go to the Tripadvisor website and punch in the name of the hotel, they will give you traveler's unbiased reviews. You might want to rethink this one after reading some of the reviews!:(

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I did check there and they seemed mixed:confused: . We have friends who live there and we are going to ask them to check it out for us. We would stay with them but then we would have to share a room with their pet snake:eek: . I think I would rather take my chances at this hotel then with a huge snake. We are just sleeping there since we would be getting in late and I always disinfect every room we sleep in even on the ship:rolleyes:

If you want an independently run small hotel, the Alhalmbra Resort gets good reviews and is in a much better location. Sea Beach Plaza is not that close to Bahia Mar and is a far walk to the main beachfront area and the reviews are pretty awful.

We stayed there a couple years ago and I thought it was awful (I'm not picky either - I'm perfectly happy in a Motel 6 or Super 8). I posted a review, with pictures, on Tripadvisor and another site, I think hotels.com. The hotel posted a reply saying we were there during spring break so they had to give us a smaller room, etc. But we were there in January, and our problem wasn't the size of the room at all. It was in terrible shape, mold in the bathroom, hard water deposits around the fixtures, chunks of sheetrock missing in the bathroom, air conditioner sounding like a jet engine, lumpy miserable bed, phone didn't work, locks wouldn't latch on the door of one of our rooms - I could go on and on. We had two rooms and they were both about the same. There was a lot of noise around the pool throughout the night, but that can happen anywhere. We enjoyed the location though! A couple years back we stayed at Angela's Beach Resort (way at the other end from Sea Beach Plaza) and thought it was fine. It was older but at least it was clean and had the appearance of being taken care of. Since it was so far down that main beach street it was a bit of a walk to most places we wanted to go though.
