Always be aware of your surroundings.

We all need to take simple precautions at ANY port of call. Know where you are/where you're going.

This was in the papers a couple of days ago.

"U.S. Virgin Islands:

If you get off a cruise ship in port, it is prudent to know where you are going.

A U.S. citizen was pistol whipped and robbed by four assailants last week, when he

wandered into the Oswald Harris Court housing community near the Havensight cruise

ship dock area on St. Thomas. He told police he went there "to look around," not

knowing that the area was unsafe.

In late February, another tourist was shot during a robbery in the same area."
