Star & Pearl in Seattle

This morning the Star arrived in Seattle. To get a good view of Pier 66, use the Space Needle webcam.

http://www.spaceneedle.com/webcam/

First go to "Find a Landmark" and select "Seattle Waterfront". To the right click "hide labels". To get a little closer view, just to the left of the picture, move down to the lower box & zoom + 1 box.

Above picture, click "time lapse view" and "play". The time lapse view usually shows about the past 12 hours or so.

You will see the Pearl docked at Pier 66 on Friday and then she leaves between 6:02 PM and 6:12 PM yesterday. You can see the Star arriving about 6:32 AM this morning and then docked by about 7:02 AM.

Enjoy!

when can we expect a review? how was the weather?

Tomorrow sometime. The weather in Alaska was superb.

The weather coming out of Prince Rupert and south was awful.

Storm force winds. 20ft swells - spray coming up to our balcony on the 11th deck.

Stay tuned!

Oh, and one thing to keep in mind is that the "live" view is not showing the correct time--it hasn't been set to daylight savings time so it's an hour behind. Although when you look at the "time lapse" view, it does show the correct time.

This morning the Pearl was approaching Pier 66 at 5:32 AM and docked at 5:45 AM:) , even though she wasn't scheduled to arrive until 8 AM.

Probably because she left SFO three hours early the other day for some unknown reason (though it might have been the weather if what the poster above mentions is what was going on out in the Pacific).

Thank you for the link. Wow, the Pearl is HUGE! Can't wait to hear your review when you return. I read you review from last year, and my first thought was, "This is a great ship, she is taking the same cruise two years in a row"!:D

The Pearl left Seattle on Friday for a 2-day dinner/dance cruise to "nowhere" and just returned from that early this morning so the SFO problem would not have any affect on it now.

Just got off the Pearl this morning from our 2 night cruise to nowhere. This was our first cruise and we had a great time getting to know the ship. Kind of confusing, if you ask me! We had beautiful sunny weather. We loved sitting out on the aft deck, 12th floor each morning for breakfast! Other highllights included the Bliss lounge, decorated in a Moraccan sort of style with 2 bowling alley lanes peaking through on either side. Love the decor here!!!! We also spent lots of time in the Spinnaker Lounge at the bow, watching the scenery and entertainment.

Our cabin was just fine for 2 people on the 4th deck, we jokingly called it the ghetto, cause we paid the cheapest rate possible. BUT...today when we disembarked, being on the forward end, we went up the staircase there and had NO line to get off, whereas there was close to an hour wait in line at the mid-deck, both lines emptied right at the gangplank too! Check this out!

Yes, we did have great weather but the seas were rough with up to 15 ft. swells and winds of 35 mph. We were out in the Pacific Ocean. Many people were getting sick, but we had all had our Dramamine.

It was hard to be outside, except sheltered on the 12th deck near the pool. The hot tubs remained full the entire time with groups of people who seemed to be together. Some people were in the pool and said it was warm, though the lifeguard was bundled up, as if on an Antarctic mission! Ha! I had to get that picture!
