another newbie question, :)

What is the policy on Celebrity regarding having drinks in your cabin, are you able to purchase alcohol on board for consumption in your cabin and also are you able to buy it in the ports and bring it back to the ship?

cheers

If you purchase a bottle onboard they will hold it until the last night of your cruise. If you purchase in the ports you are supposed to turn it in (there will be a table set up right after you get back onboard) but I've seen people go past without turning it in. You can buy a liquor package from the Bon Voyage dept though. It will come with some sodas and nuts. It's kinda pricey to go that route though.

If you purchase wines/alcahol from the ship and have it delivered to your cabin you can consume it in your cabin. You can pre order from the Bon Voyage section on the X web site.

No bringing any alcahol of any kind from shore. (except your two bottles of wine upon embarkation)

edit...posting the same time as Terri!

You are talking about room service or purchasing a bottle at a lounge, aren't you? You are NOT referring to buying a bottle in the shop. That liquor will be held til the end of the cruise.

Yes, I meant that only alcahol purchased from the Bon Voyage packages, that can also be purchased once you are on the ship, from the main desk. (not from the beverage store on board)

I did this once, and it is the same as the Bon Voyage ordering.

They deliver it to your room, and it is for room consumption. I do not know if they still do this, but at $100 for the premium vodkas they should be happy to oblige.
