SLEEPING ON THE QUEEN MARY - got me started!

Mary Jane 711

Recommended Posts

My first "cruise" experience was back in 1998. We live in the Los Angeles area. My husbands 20th High School reunion was being held at the permanently docked Queen Mary in Long Beach CA harbor. We opted for the discounted over night stay on board her. Well, needless to say, now my husband and I are hooked. The Queen Mary is definitely the greatest example of art deco and fine elegance. I just love that ship.

We have taken three cruises now and off for our fourth (second this year). I just thought I would pass this little tid bit on. Happy cruising everyone!:)

I made the pilgrimage to the first Queen in January 2003 and realised that they just don't build them how they used to! QE2 has some nice wood on board but nothing to compare to QM. Now SOLAS 2010 means that there is sadly no wood on QM2.

Sadly it is so dark inside because of the wood and I did not have the correct camera kit to get any good interior shots. Next time....
