2onvacation Posted July 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2008 We are looking to do the New England/Canada Cruise in fall of 2009. We are having trouble deciding on the dates and want to pick the best for foilage. The dates we are considering are 9/17, 10/1 and 10/15. Any advice? John Cuttino Posted July 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2008 In Boston, peak foliage is usually around the 2nd week in Oct. I would guess in Maine, Canada, a few weeks earlier.
sopo pirates Posted July 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Go for the 1st week in Oct to get the best variety of foliage throughout the tour. Some areas will be near peak, others at peak and still others past.
SailBadtheSinner Posted July 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Here’s an interactive foliage map for average conditions in New England: http://www.yankeefoliage.com/peakmap/ The map is supplied by Yankee Magazine. http://www.yankeemagazine.com/index.php Based on the dates you supplied, September 17th would be too early; October 1st looks good and October 15th looks good also. YMMV SBtS
