CJcruzer Posted July 21, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2008 I posted this under another thread together with Scavi - Anyone book any Italy museums through them?
DavidandPaula Posted July 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2008 Yes, we booked the Borghese Gallery and Accademia in Florence. Also booked for the Vatican Museums/Sistine Chaple. If you book for the Vatican you may/may not get some sort of email indicating that tickets are not allocated until 30 days out. We booked many months out and we got our confirmation at the 30 days. This gave a website to go to to print out our confirmation letter. We presented this to the 'guide' outside the museum and they escorted our group in and let us loose after a very brief talk. We actually started moving through the museums by 8:30am on the day of our visit. David
CJcruzer Posted July 22, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 22, 2008 I was looking at their guided tour - they have a 3 hour guided tour which is priced fairly decent compared to the Vatican's 2 hour tour.

We did the unguided but I suspect their service is pretty good regardless of which you book. The early entry (8:15am) we used is not available any longer but we at least got to visit, many of our friends gave up when faced with the long queues but we feel the Vatican Museums are one of the 'popular' attractions that cannot be missed. My mother in law really appreciated the set of rosary beads in the silver case that I got her. Still the favourite son-in-law a year later. Our other highlights were the Knights of Malta Keyhole ,the Protestant Cemetery, the Borghese Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art, Trajans Column, eating out, gelati from Fata Morgana ......
