angelkitty Posted July 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2008 We are trying to get a group of people together for a cruise in May of 2010. Doing it because it will be fun, but also because I had heard that the bigger the group--the bigger the discount (or the organizer gets their room free)! Was this a bad myth/rumor I heard? GoinCruisin Posted July 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2008 If you have 8 cabins (16 berths), you get a berth rebated... not the full cruise fare, only a portion, based on the category that has the most people booked in your group. Many use that money to split among and bring the cruise fare down. This is for every 8 cabins, 16 berths... but some TA's cap the number of free berths you get at 2, depending on where you book. You'll just need to talk to a group TA or the group dept at Carnival and get all the details... It's a lot of work, but group cruises are a lot of fun!!!
