Pay For An Upgrade?

I know that Princess sometimes offers refunds or OBC to booked passengers if the price falls before the final payment date, but will not offer it after final payment date. Also, I understand that "flash sale" prices are not available to booked passengers after the final payment date has passed. I have no problem with this; it makes good business sense. However, if the final payment date has passed and a sale is announced, has anyone been able to upgrade to a higher category by paying the difference between what you payed for your original room and the current sale price for a room in a higher category (for example, go from an inside room to a balcony)?

In order to pay to upgrade, you would have to cancel your current booking and then rebook the higher category stateroom at the sale price. As those flash promotion sales are FOR NEW BOOKINGS ONLY, and you can not benefit from them. Sorry!
