Booking Late

Recommended Posts

Due to our work situations--other than one cruise I always book late. This time I booked the cruise about 70 days out. My experience in the past is that GTYs are rarely available at this late date in any category.

However, this time 3 categories have GTYs still available and it is AFTER final payment. In addition-my category--the suite GTY--even dropped in price (yes I called and got the $200 difference).

I have been looking at the various categories and there seem to still be a lot of open cabins for this close to sailing... Maybe I can hope for another price drop and the upgrade fairy?

It's possible; if this particular cruise is not selling well they will keep dropping prices until it does sell. They need the on board revenue and empty staterooms do not generate any income. Hopefully you will catch a glimpse of the elusive fairy and/or be blessed with a price drop.

Yes-another price drop would be fine by me. The upgrade fairy is welcomed.

Also hoping for some price drops in lower categories as we have friends who could use that--say offering an Balcony or OV for the price of an inside!!!
