Whale Park in Sitka

Does anyone have any info on the Whale Park in Sitka? This is our second visit there and are looking to do something different than last time. We went to the Raptor Center and the Totem Park and walked around town.

Any ideas?

Do you hope to see whales from the park? I've been out there a couple of times, and it's really nothing but a few trails, some stairs wwwaaayyy down to the water for tidal pool looking and some viewing platforms, from which, I've seen nothing.

 

Perhaps take one of the highly recommended whale watching boat trips. Or kayak?

Whale park, isn't noted for any "whale" viewing until long after the cruise season ends, since this is a heavy "last" feeding ground. Come out for the yearly November Whale fest.
