Dinner at the Burj al Arab?

We were able to obtain a dinner reservation at Al Mahara, the seafood restaurant at the Burj. Unfortunately, their 'submarine' is not going to be available that night. But more importantly, I have been reading some rather ambivalent reviews.

If you have dined there, I would love to hear your opinions.

We dined there a little over 3 years ago, when we spent a weekend at the Burj. 3 of us ate there, and we all chose different dinners and dining options. My husband had the set plate courses, I chose just an entree, and our friend had entree and appetizers.

All of our food was fabulous.

It's a shame the sub wont' be working - it's silly, but fun. When we were there, they also had a harpist - who took requests - we requested Hotel California.
