Spanish Galleon Harbor Cruise?

Has anyone been on this lately and what did you think of it. We had a friend who did this as his excursion and he thought it was pretty sorry.

Here's what his wife emailed regarding his impressions:

The only disappointment for W was the Cartagena

Bay Cruise. I hope your tour is with a different company. They "Boarded a beautiful Spanish galleon (a replica of a 17th century sailing ship) for a two-hour cruise-tour of the Inner Bay at Cartagena. ..... " Pretty much all they did was board this small version of the ship - given a drink and sat on plastic chairs watching dancing girls as they made a swoop around the bay. No narration or

pointing out any historical (or otherwise) points of interest. This was the only tour he was disappointed with. Meanwhile I was on a city tour enjoying

the forts, churches and museums.

If that is it... I need to cancel our excursion!!

We took this tour in November 08 (8 adults, 3 children ages 10, 7 and 4). The boat is a nice replica of a Spanish Galleon. Seating is provided by benches and chairs. Atmosphere is provided by pirate garb worn by all crew members. The cruise is fully narrated. (Be sure to sit in front of the helmsman for the best sound.) Soft drinks, beer, water and snacks are served. The crew members were great with the kids and gave them pirate bandanas, etc. The entertainment doesn't follow the pirate theme but consists of local songs and dances, a couple of which might have been slightly adult for children. The cruise is fine for those who choose not to go into the city. However, be aware that you view most of the points of interest from quite a distance. If you really want to see the city you have to go ashore.
