cruisernurse Posted September 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2008 Can anyone tell me how far it is from the pier where RCL docks and Willemstad Marriott? I want to rent a car and the rate is awesome if I pick the car up there. Is it a short walking distance? Thanks

The Marriott is about a 10 minute taxi ride depending on traffic. You will have to go west along the coast, up a hill, through a round-about and down the hill to the Marriott. There is a walkway along the coast called the Promenade but it would take you about 2 hours+ walking briskly, to get to the Marriott from the pier. And don't forget the hot temps of Curacao... I would recommend taking the local bus (mini van) or a taxi if you want to get to the Mariott and still have time to use your rental car. The local bus costs about $3 each one way and the bus depot is within 5 minutes walking distance from the Mega Pier.
2CoolCanucks Posted September 14, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2008 TO add to the above... the promenade is also called the koredor. If you want to view the path you would have to walk go to curamap.com and zoom into the bottom of the map. You will see a Sonesta Beach and the Marriott is right there. cruisernurse Posted September 14, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted September 14, 2008 Thanks. That makes a difference. I think I will just rent from Avis right @ the Mega Pier. Nancy
