BonnieJeansMum Posted September 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2008 Cruise Critic front page posted great news for the re-opening of the port. In the excerpt they state: In addition to repairing its own port area, Carnival will also offer financial and logistical assistance to shore excursion operators on the island, helping them to restore their businesses. When the cruise ships return to Grand Turk, Carnival will run volunteer-oriented shore excursions so passengers and crewmembers can help with the rebuilding efforts around the island. While most of us will gladly lend a hand to help, I wonder what Carnival has in mind? What does "volunteer oriented" mean to you? Would we pay for an excursion, work 4 hours to meet wants/needs, and then go back to the ship? Wouldn't be surprised. I am hoping that they put lots of thought into it, so that it is successful and rewarding for all involved.
