tombo Posted September 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2008 The noted American author David Foster Wallace died last week, apparently a suicide. In commemoration, Harper's Magazine has posted on its website a number of Wallace's essays previously published in the magazine. Among them is a piece titled "Shipping Out - On the (nearly lethal) comforts of a luxury cruise". This was published by Harper's in January 1996 and has not recently been available for free online. I think most people who enjoy high-end cruising would enjoy reading this. (Warning: it's quite lengthy). If you visit harpers.org you'll be able to find it.
