Rare clarky Posted September 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2008 Just been informed by our travel agent that our ports of call in La Rochelle France will be replaced with a port call in Le Verdon Sur Mer France and St Jean De Luz France is to be replaced with a stop in Gijon Spain. Has anyone been to either of these ports? Any information on what to see and do would be appreciated.
lbkjj Posted September 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2008 This is news to me. Verdon is just down the coast from La Rochelle at the mouth of the Gironde river that goes to Bordeaux. Looks like a container port! Gijon is not far from Santadar and is a city of 250,000. That's my quick research after viewing your post but I'm not excited about these changes, especially at the last minute.
Rare clarky Posted September 25, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted September 25, 2008 We have friends who will also be cruising with us and they also received this news from their travel agent. Also if you go on Seabourn's web page and look at the itinerary it shows the changes. I'm not thrilled with the changes either but will keep an open mind and wait until we are onboard to see what shore excursions they offer. I do wonder why they made the change. LaPaloma Posted September 26, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2008 I have no idea what the reason for the changes were..but, in the past..sometimes changes are made because the ports get greedy and make unreasonable demands.
