Paris - catacombs and sewers

When I was in Rome I wanted to see the catacombs but didn't have enough time. Someone on the trip was saying that the catacombs in Paris are actually better. Can anyone confirm?

 

I will be in Paris for several days in April and may try to see the catacombs. Has anyone done that? Also, I see that you can visit the sewers (Les Egouts de Paris). Is that the same thing as the catacombs? And if not, which is the more interesting tour?

I have never done the sewer tour, but I've been through the catacombs several times, and they are quite spectacular, containing the bones of about six million people. You can read more (and check the days they're open) at: http://www.catacombes-de-paris.fr/english.htm
