'Island in the Sun' (1957)

Interesting film shot in Grenada & Barbados back in 1957 depicting the turbulent times during the old British Colonial rule in the Caribbean.

Starred James Mason, Joan Collins, Michael Rennie & young dashing

Harry Belafonte in his first screen role.

Pops up on late night TV..may find it in a video store specializing in old movie classics..

The ruins of the hotel in the film stood, until recently (cleared for the Port Louis complex), on the hill overlooking the Lagoon. The hotel was the Cuban headquarters during the 1983 invasion/intervention and was destroyed by US naval gunfire and rockets.
