Beaches in St. Lucia

Does anyone know of any beaches in St. Lucia near where the cruise ships dock?

Not in walking distance...Reduit / Rodney (i think that is how it's spelled) is where we went by taxi.

We did not want to go too far and ended up at "Choc Bay" - maybe 3 miles away from the port and a $20US return taxi ride - as usual this varied from driver to driver.

 

Loungers and parasol were $5US each for all day.

 

There is a great little bar / restaurant called "The Wharf" right on the beach - very good and reasonably priced food and drink.

 

The young lad who sorts the loungers also fetches drinks etc from the bar for tips and looks after your stuff while you swim or go for a walk. On the day we were there last week, there were probably no more than 10 people on the beach at any one time.

Were there any small sailboats for rent at Choc Bay? (either hobie cats or sunfish)

Sorry for delay,

 

No boats on the "Wharf" section of beach but could see some sailing activity back along the sand towards the port - although these may have been from Sandals or one of the other resort hotels.
