Tour company for Civitavecchia area?

Recommended Posts

  • 1 month later...

We just returned and unfortunatley a major storm and rogue wave caused our arrival in Civitevicchia very late resulting so we missed our tour to Orvieto & Civita di Bagnoreggio.

However, Fabrizzio was still waiting for us when we got iff the ship at 1 pm (instead of 7:30 am) and he took us to Torquina (which was a wonderful town closer to the port). We highly recommed Fabrizio...he was funny and very nice. He walked around with us for the afteroon and was very knowledgable.

If you use him, tell him Joyce & Tom said hello.

We now want to go back to see Orvieto & Civita di Bagnoreggio with Fabrizio.

Tell more about the rogue wave! We had one of those hit our ship in NZ one day-right during outdoor lunch by the pool. WHAT A MESS!! People piled everywhere, and all these gold-foil wrapped baked potatoes rolling everywhere, right into the dumped giant vats of sticky cole slaw. Bottles crashing from the bar, you just can't imagine. Great story though.

Cathy-our rogue wave hit early morning (about 12:30 am). It was estimated to be approx 45 feet. Most everyone was sleeping (inlcuding us) because it was the last night of the first cruise (we were on a back-to back). Approx 2100 passengers were schedule to disembark early in the morning (we were to arrive at 4 am and ended up arriving at 12:00 pm).

Although we lost all power on the ship (from 2 minutes to up to approx 2 hours-depending on where you were on the ship), damage was not to bad. A crew member got hit in the head with her television (she was okay). A Slot machine fell in thecrew quarters, broken window at one of the speciality restaurants, many small broken items, and the anchor apparently came loose and hit the side of the ship (did damage but not bad enough to stop us from sailing that night.)

Was just another adventure for us!!
