Formal Dinners?

Being a very casual person, I've never been fond of formal nights--but, ok, they're not horrible, and even almost fun. Now, however, with the airlines charging for luggage, I wish the cruiselines would just drop them altogether. Those formal clothes are heavy--and take up too much room...shoes, accessories, etc. I'm seriously thinking of skipping them on my cruise on the Glory, Jan. 31st!!!

Most mass-market cruiselines have lowered their standards in the last years. There is also NCL where Resort Casual gets you in every restaurant, every night (I think they offer a great product and often have great sales - I'm flexible with my vacation plans and I paid from 52$ to 67$ pp/day and one of those cruises was solo for 61$/day; of course this price is for an inside cabin).
