Hanauma Bay from Island Princess 12/20?

Can anyone give me advice as to the best way to get to Hanauma Bay as soon as we dock on Oahu 12/27 from the Island Princess? It appears rental cars are either sold out or extremely expensive for this one day in port, and I am familiar with Oahu and it's good bus system, but wonder if we can get the bus close to the ship and how often it comes, etc. I haven't been to Hanauma Bay since I was a kid, and the last 2 times I've tried taking my son, jellyfish have forced it to close for the day. Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated!

There are shuttles that run to Hanauma Bay as well. Don't have any experience with them myself but you may want to check out some companies off the web ... here's one that I found. (http://www.hanaumabay-hawaii.com/tourinfo.htm)

What ever you do, do not drive! Parking, unles you get there befor 8 am, is awful. We've had to turn around a number of times becuase we couldn't park. Take a taxi, or one of the shuttles that the dive shops offer

Parking can be very variable. I've gone in the afternoon before and managed to park without problems. Mornings do tend to be worse.
