Fall Equinox in CI

Does anyone know when the Fall Equinox takes place in CI in 2009? I heard that this is the best time to go....

otherwise known as the first day of fall. The light & shadow display also occurs on the Spring equinox. You can usually view the shadow display the entire week.

 

For 2009

Fall equinox is 9/22, Spring 3/20

 

Is it the best time to go? Well, it's an unusual occurance to be sure. But it's also when the site is jammed packed crowded.

 

I've witnessed the fall equinox display a couple of times. Both time afternoon thunderstorms cut our viewing short. I've not been during the spring on, but I imagine the weather might be a bit more favorable.

Thanks....is it true that it lasts for 5 days before and after 9/22?

that's what I've heard as well. While I've been there within the week, I've not stayed that late in the day to see if it's true or not.
