Celebrity & Jacksonville

April 21, 2005 is the last scheduled departure of a Celebrity ship from Jacksonville. The Zenith will depart that day and will not return. I have heard from very reliable sources that the Port of Jacksonville (aka JAXPORT.COM) is currently in discussions with RCI to get a replacement ship. Celebrity's Zenith was the first cruise ship out of Jacksonville, beginning service in October of 2003. The Zenith did primarily 14 days cruises, alternating from a Western to Southern Caribbean itinerary, during the winter season of 2003/2004 and 2004/2005. Beginning the winter season of 2005/2006, the Zenith has been relegated to 4 and 5 day cruises from Miami. Carnival's Celebration will be doing 4 and 5 day cruises out of Jacksonville on a continual basis.
