We're aboard the Dawn Nov 23-Dec 2 for a ten-dayer that because of hurricane damage will be at sea 40% of the time. Would like to hear any recent ex periences with this ship.

thanks...;)

Hey Cruiser,

You should join our roll-call: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=26756 ! I will be aboard the Dawn too with many others and we are getting VERY excited.

Here's Kkorman's review(he had the same itinerary): http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=97130 and Jayvevee44's very detailed review (Western Caribbean itinerary): http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=90486

Bear in mind though that the ship is in dry dock and being refurbished and everything so, we'll sail on a like-new Dawn.

We too are on the 11/23/04 cruise with you. As Melissa said come over and join our chat board.

The ship is missing the extra ports not because of hurricane damage but because an engine problem. They are suppose to be fixing the engine but will not be able to run it at full speed. Thus the shorten port times and ommission of 2 ports.

We are all looking forward to the new and improved Dawn when she comes out of the dry-docking. It should be like a new ship.... YAHOO :D

Melissa attached my review, but I really enjoyed the changed itinerary. Have a port at night is nice and it allowed the heat to go away so you can actually enjoy Curacao (I live in the desert and I was uncomfortable). Have the next day at sea was nice as well because you were so exhausted from the previous day. THe worst part about the trip was having 3 consecutive port days.

THe crew does a good job of entertaining on the sea days. Sure, some stuff is Carnival like, but overall it is entertaining.
