What documentation is required when entering the port in a taxi? Do you need to show your boarding papers at the main gate? Also, are you allowed to bring your own flowers on the ship? Thanks!

My experience is that everyone 18 and over should have their driver's license / passport out and ready to present to security. Having your cruise documents out, while not necessary, certainly will speed the process along.

I know that you can't bring flowers back into the U.S. - Not sure about bringing them on board - sorry.

All cruise passengers departing from Port Everglades will enter the Port through a security checkpoint. Be prepared to present a government-issued photo ID for all persons in the vehicle, as well as travel documents for the departing passengers. If you have an electronic ticket, simply provide a printed copy of your confirmation.

Last March, I took a cab from the airport to the cruise terminal. The cab driver showed the checkpoint his DL (I assume), but I wasn't asked to show anything.

Port security says "be prepared to" show your documents. It doesn't necessarily mean you'll be asked to. ;)
