miami port-miami or Ft Lauderdale airport

What is the distance from these airports to the port? I know the Miami one is closer, but how far are each of them?

If I remember correctly, The Miami Airport is a 15 Minute ride while the Ft. Lauderdale Airport is about a 40 - 45 minute ride to the port of Miami.

We fly into Fort Lauderdale and stay the night before there also. We rent a car and drive to the port in Miami which is about 45 minutes. Found both air and hotel in Fort Lauderdale to be much less for us. (we fly out of Philadelphia)

We fly in/out of Ft L as it is cheaper and easier for us as well. We stay at a hotel (usually Days Inn) that has a free shuttle to/from air port and cruise port.

If you rent a car and drive to Port of Miami, i assume you return the car. How do you return to FLL on at the end of the cruise?

We are flying into Miami before the cruise and then flying out of Ft. Lauderdale on the way home. We are renting a car from Miami and returning it at the Ft. Lauderdale airport.
