Pricing on Princess

I checked daily for May airfare bookings to open and I jumped on $159.00 each. A week later the same flight went up to $249.00 each. Since I only have to fly one way I think I got a bargain for this cruise.

We booked this cruise in November. The price, which then also included the fuel surcharge, was $3,200 for two of us -- no air included. Then I got a brochure in the mail listing this cruise at $1,099 plus tax of about $67.

I called our TA. Princess told him that price was only for new bookings. SO we canceled and rebooked. (The TA - a cruise specialist we found in ads on this board -- was a gem).

Here's the good part. Originally we booked a BG balcony as a guarantee. But in checking the new prices (as a former cruiser) on the Princess site, I discovered ALL balconies were listed at the new price of $1,099. So now we have a BA cabin and our total bill has dropped to about $2,200.

I don't know how much your airfare added, tho I do know Cincinnati is one of the more expensive airports to use since it doesn't have some of the discount airlines.

Also, the TA fought and we get to keep our $100 per room onboard credit.

We consider this a great deal, especially since we are using air miles for the travel from Cleveland.
