Last Minute Upgrades

Hi All, I was just wondering...I have a BTB coming up in April. On the first segment I will be with one friend in a CC cabin. On the second segment, I have that friend leaving, but I am getting joined by two other friends. We will be in the same cabin. My question was, has any one out there ever upgraded to a larger cabin or suite at the very last minute? I was thinking of upgrading the second segment for the extra room. Possibly doing it during the first part of the trip or the day my friends show and suprise em. Any tips, advice experiences welcome. Thanks all.

People have said they have gotten upgrades at the pier before. I don't think it has happened much recently. Cruise lines run 104-106% occupancy. Yes, it is over 100% because of triples and quads. Even so, you can imagine cabins are full.

 

Interestingly, even with all of the specials and discounts, cabins are still full.

 

I've never had any luck but I am hoping it happens one day.
