Opera ports

For me it's a plus. But I'm a diver and prefer the diving in Port Lucaya. Nassau isn't my favorite cruise ship port, though I like the island overall. Port Lucaya area (the marina itself) is a nice little shopping area. Nothing major, but also very comfortable. Some good little restaurants there as well and pretty setting. Freeport isn't too far away and it has more shopping for those interested.

There's a *fantastic* dolphin program run out of the Port Lucaya area for those interested. It is operated by UNEXSO. Not sure if our port times allow for participation that day, but it's one of the few I really respect. Their dolphins are only semi-captive and often go out into the ocean. Still not a wild dolphin program, but they do some decent research there and the dolphins are well treated from everything I see.

Not sure why the change - may have just been a scheduling thing when they first set up the itineraries.
