Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon on a Thursday

Hey Everyone...I had a question and was hoping someone might have some experience. We are traveling to Nassau with Carnival Cruise Line on a Thursday in May. I emailed Blue Lagoon to make reservations for the dolphin encounter for my family. I received a confirmation for my reservation, but was told that on Thursday's the beach itself is closed. So, I was wondering if we still do the dolphin encounter, are there any other beaches nearby (either near the ferry pickup or near the ships location)?
